The museum Has 9 showrooms displaying the contents like: The stages of history; the archaeological objects, the models of shelters, the tools for hunting, the traditional handicraft villages, traditional costumes, traditional festival and the objects of the two resistance wars.
Lam Dong museum keeps and display many collections of stone gongs which have been found in Lam Dong province. These include B’lao stone gong (Bao Lam district), Dinh Lac, Lien Dam, Hoa Nam, Son Dien stone gongs (Di Linh district). These proved that their life developed to a high rank. They could be sensitive to the interest and the beauty.

Coming to Lam Dong museum, visitors will find out about “Cat Tien archaeological site” or “Holy Land Cat Tien”, the valuable heritage of the ancient kingdom which was buried in the ground for thousands years ago. Cat Tien archaeological site was recognized as a national historical site in 1997.



Beside that, Lam Dong museum displays and introduces burial sites which were excavated in Lam Dong such as Dai Lang, Dai Lao(Bao Lam district), Da Don (Lam Ha district) and many artifacts such as collections of ceramic, farming tools, jewelleries, ect. Basing on the burial custom and artifacts, scientists can deduce that the owners of these sites were ethnic minorities in Lam Dong province. Their socio – economic development had the advantages enlarged their relation with many areas in Vietnam.


With the plan to attract more tourists, they will build the museum as a place for cultural center; 04 stilt-houses of the Ethnic groups like Ma, K’ho, Churu will be displayed. Besides, they also show the traditional handicraft like: pottery, weaving or organizing Buffalo-stabbing festival, Gonf performance, etc. on special occasions.


Besides, tourists can directly see more stes of Dan Da ( Lithophone-an ancient musical instrument) of Di Linh and B’Lao with their dates of 3,500-3,000 years; architecture vestiges of P’Roh (of Don Duong) and Cat Tien (of Cat Tien district); archaeological excavated from the tombs of native people in Dai Long (of Bao Lam district), Dai Lao (of Bao Loc city) and Da Don (of Lam Ha district).
The museum gathers nearly 10,000 items made from pottery, porcelain, copper and iron which valuable in the Southeast Asia. Lamdong museum management board has been trying their best to make it more and more special.

Historical Records of Cat Tien National Park

According to the legend, there had ever had a fairy coming there to enjoy her good time with its fresh water, therefore the place has been called “the South Cat Tien”. Cat Tien National Park has become an archaeological site which contains big cultural, historical and religious traces of a Kingdom which were destroyed over 1300 years ago.

Cat Tien National Park has been recognized as a world biosphere preservation area by UNESCO.

It has an area of 70,548 hectares, in which 26,969 ha belongs to Lam Dong, 39,108 ha belongs to Dong Nai and 4,469 ha belongs to Binh Phuoc. Cat Tien national park has a head office in Tan Phu district – Dong Nai province and a management board office in Phu My commune – Cat Tien district – Lam Dong province.

The park has multiform areas: hill, expanse along the blanks of river and waterfall. In the rainy season, the streams become falls. In the middle of river, there are some small islands. Tourist can go camping on the islands and make the camp – fire at night.

Along the riverside: there is an old forest with many kinds of precious wood on the left and the most wonderful waterfall of Cat Tien on the right – Heaven waterfall. Going through the forest and passing some deep valleys, tourist will discover Bau Sau – the biggest pool in the center of the park. There are a lot of kinds of fish, especially crocodile in the pool and many bird herds around the pool.
Plant system has more than 1362 species of high – ranking trees, 440 species of precious wood, hundreds of medical trees, 133 species of orchid, ect,… About animals, there are 62 kinds of animals and 121 kinds of bird.
In the park, archaeologists discovered a temple of Phu Nam kingdom on the top of A1 hill which belongs to Cat Tien districts – Lam Dong province. The temple was built with bricks. Its platform, door-frame and pillars were decorated with granite and pattern. The temple has some golden Lingas, among that there is the biggest one in the Southeast Asia – Yoni – with 2.1m height and 0.7m were carved the picture of life then such as dancing girls, soldiers, elephants, cows, lotus, ect…

Overview of Lat Village in Dalat

At the base of Mount Langbiang is the village of the Lat ethnic minority, a local hill tribe from whom Dalat takes part of its name. There are a few hamlets known as the Lat Village. The closest, 12km north of Dalat, have seen frequent visitation and retain little authenticity, although it is possible to visit a traditional house and hear local stories from an older Lat gentleman. 17km south of Dalat is Dinh An village, also Lat (Chicken Village). You will know, you have arrived when you spot the concrete chicken statue. Bear in mind this is a poor area and the people are trying their hardest to make ends meet.

Overview of silk factory in Dalat

The silk weaving factory in Dalat is an interesting place to visit, to see the entire process, from cocoon to fabric. The cocoons are soaked in hot water, and the delicate thread is wound onto a machine that unravels the cocoon. The thread is then wound onto a reel, which is used on a large loom, to weave it into delicately patterned fabric. The factory can be visited on a tour, or is often included in an Easy Rider itinerary. It is around 25 km from Dalat, and can easily be combined with the Elephant Falls and Linh An Pagoda.

Overview of Bao Dai Summer Palace in Dalat

Otherwise known as Palace Number 3 (Palace III), Bao Dai’s summer Palace was used as a retreat by the family of King Bao Dai, the last king of Viet Nam. Built from 1933 to 1938, the cube – like art deco exterior angled away from the entrance point, disuises the true size of the palace, which contains 25 rooms built within the colonial architectural framework.



The engraved glass map of Vietnam was given to Emperor Bao Dai in 1942 by Vietnamese students in France. In Bao Dai’s office, the life-size white bust above the bookcase is of Bao Dai himself; the smaller gold and brown busts are of his father, Emperor Khai Dinh. Note the heaven brass royal seal (on the right) and military seal (on the left). The photographs over the fire-place are of (from left to right) Bao Dai, his elder son, Bao Long (in uniform), and Empress Nam Phuong, who dies in 1963.


Upstairs are the royal living quarters. The room of Bao Long, who now lives in England, is decorated in yellow, the royal color. The huge semicircular couch was used by the emperor and empress for family meeting, during which their three daughters were seated in the pink chairs and their two son on the yellow chairs.

Overview of Teacher’s Training College in Dalat

Formerly, it was Lycee Yersin which was formed from two schools: Petit Lycee (1927) and Grand Lycee (1929 – 1941). On 28 June, 1935 Grand Lycee took the name Lycee Yersin (Yersin High school). Later, it was renameed as Hung Vuong Education Center and then Dalat teachers’ training college.



This is the architecture with the combination of Western and Oriental architecture style. It was designed by architects Moncet and Ernest Hebrard. According to the International Union, this construction is one of the World’s typical 1,000 constructions in 20th century.
On 28th December, 2001 Dalat Teachers’ training College was recognized as the National Architecture Relic by Ministry of Culture and Information.

Location & formation of Magic Table in Dalat
The weird table will make you amazing

Approx. 5 km southeast of the Dalat center and opposite Chinese Pagoda, Dalat Magic Table is originally from Binh Dinh province in The Middle of Vietnam used by four generations. It was known as the “miracle table” to locals, is claimed to be two centuries old and to have magical properties which enable it to turn left or right or faster an slower per your command even if it look absolutely normal and legit without any motor of any kind.



The owner of the table stay there and explain to you what to do. People are supposed to lightly place their hands on the table and will it to move to the right or left- per your command. This table understands English too and you can talk in any languages also make the table move.

Table is rotated or not depending on each person. Sometimes it does not seem to follow your instruction then the owner will put his hands lightly on the table help you.
Occasionally the owner can takes the table apart and turned the table upside down and put the table on a plastic stool or the floor, even if a person is put on the table some tourists still make it turn around by their command.

Tuyen Lam lake (Paradise Lake), 6km to the South of Dalat, has the water surface of 350 ha. It was created by Tia stream – head water of Da Tam river. Nobody knows when and why it was called Tuyen Lam, but maybe because of the grandiose nature around it – stream and forest were close to each other. Tuyen stand for stream, Lam stands for forest. Tuyen Lam is a place for water and tree meeting each other.



The Lake and its campus have fresh air, tranquil atmosphere and diversified natural landscape. The Dried Flower Showroom belongs to Dalat Flower Forest Biotechnology Corporation (Dalat FBIO Corp) located on Mai Anh Dao treet, ward 8, Dalat city, Lam Dong province. LangBiang Mountain is the highest mountain of Dalat
The legend story of Langbiang mountain

Langbiang mountain is located in Lac Duong district which is 12km from Dalat in the North. With its height of 2,169m above the sea level, langbiang mountain has not only been an attractive tourist site bit also kept legend about a passionate love.

According to the old people, there was a love story of K’Lang (a boy of Lach minority people) and Ho-biang (a girl of Chil minority people). Their family both lived at the foot of the mountain. They met each other by chance and then they were beloved. However, they were at different tribes, so Ho-biang couldn’t get married to K’Lang.



Finally, they decided to overcome their strict customs and got married. Then they left their hometown and came to live in a place in the top of the mountain. One day, Ho-biang was ill, K’Lang managed to cure his wife but she couldn’t get over her illness. K’Lang decided to go back Ho-biang village to inform people about her illness. However, because Chil people hated him, they prepare a bow and a poisoned arrow to kill him. Suddenly, Ho-biang went to stand before K’Lang to prevent her husband from the arrow. The arrow shot her and she died. K’Lang cried a lot and he also died. His tear turned into a scream that we call Dankia now.

After the Death of K’Lang and Ho-biang, the father of Bian realized what he did before was wrong, so he united all the hill tribes of Lach, Lang and Biang turned into two mountains standing with each other, so the local people gave the name Langbiang for the mountain.




Nowadays, Langbiang tourist site has been known by a lot of local and foreign tourists with its multiform biology of plants, animals and its attractive amusements such as climbing mountain, camping, taking eco – tours and researching native culture.

Overview of Domaine De Marie Church in Dalat

The design of this church, which has no bell tower, contained plenty of renovation compared to the classic churches in the West. The most unique point of this church is that its roofs are similar to the roofs of the communal houses of Ethnis minority in Central highland. Behind the church we can see three blocks of modern architectural houses of Les filles de la Charite de Saint Vincent (the Daughters of Charity of Saint Vincent).



This is a unique architecture which bears the European architecture style of 17th century and the traditional architecture style of the locality.

Coming to Dalat city, surely you can not ignore the flower Van Thanh village, the village’s largest flower and which provide over 80% roses of Da Lat. About 300 households of peasants in Van Thanh village, Da Lat produce a variety of the flowers with a total area of over 200 hectares.

It is located about 5 km from the city center, Van Thanh flower village was formed in the late 50s, more than 10 farmers from the northern plains north of Vietnam immigrated to this fertile land for cultivating the green vegetables, and then put the village name is Van Thanh. Through the 60s, 70s, the first household has boldly moved gradually from green vegetables to plant roses with different colors such as pink, yellow roses, ligh pink roses… Since, Van Thanh flower village is known for Dalat market and spread to other parts of the country. Switch to the first year of 2000s of the new century, The roses of Van Thanh land with wide-open market mechanism has stepped looking attractive to investors by planting flowers and abroad. These breeds of businesses brought in greenhouse trials on the effectiveness such as: Dutch red roses, Italy red roses, bi bi flowers, coin flowers from Europe …

Currently, more than 200ha of flowers, with two thirds dedicated to roses, are grown in the greenhouse equipped with automatic lighting and watering systems. Van Thanh Farmers quick access to technology in greenhouse floriculture, and actively breeding new roses from seed imported from abroad rose varieties planted in Van Thanh released a new varieties of roses, creating competitive advantages for the difference in the cut flower market. Flower farming has been handed down from generation to generation. Young farmers are now aware of the importance of maintaining and developing this practice.

In a form of Da Lat Flower Festival 2012, Lam Dong Provincial People’s Committee promulgated Decision recognizing Van Thanh Flower village in Da Lat as a traditional village. So, This place is so attractive to many tourists coming to Dalat city.

Just as true love has to surpass several obstacles, the Valley of Love in Dalat had to surpass many challenges in the past in order to gain its rightful name today. In the beginning, the valley was called Vallee Damour by the French before being renamed The Valley of Piece. In 1935, its beauty and captivation persuaded people to once again name it after the most wonderful thing in the world: Love. Thanks to being the honeymoon destination of newly-married couples, this valley is even regarded as Niagara Fall of Viet Nam.



The Valley of Love is located in the Northeast which is 6 km from Dalat city, Valley of Love is one of the poetic beauty – spots of Dalat. There are many ways to explain the name: Valley of Love.

* Among the 1930s, Governor-general of Indochina – Mr. Varenne and a lot of French couples used to come here to sightseeing and exchange confidences on weekend. So, The French called the place Vallee D amour(the Valley of Love). Until 1953, Mr. Nguyen Vy, chairman of Dalat at that time suggested changing all the French name of lake and streets in Dalat city into Vietnamese names. Then, the name Valley of Love appeared.
